01Why now

AI can write the email. It can't wire the panel.

The work that needs hands, presence, and judgment is the work automation can't reach — and it's hiring hard as a generation of tradespeople and nurses retires. Pivot while it's desk jobs getting automated, not you.

01
Skilled TradesAI can't run a wire through a wall or braze a joint that holds.
02
HealthcareAI can't start an IV, calm a scared patient, or lift someone safely.
03
Transportation / CDLAI can't sit licensed in the cab — trucks still need a human, for years.
04
Early Childhood EdAI can't comfort a crying toddler or keep a room of four-year-olds safe.
05
IT & CybersecurityAI can't defend the systems it's being used to attack. That's your job.

Workforce Pell opens. The first approved cohorts fill first — early movers get seats.

Limited

Pell eligibility is capped for life. Spend it on a credential that keeps paying.

Hiring now

Retirements and shortages mean leverage on pay in the trades and healthcare.

In the news

Half.

Fewer than half of the people who'd benefit even know this money exists.

The biggest expansion of federal grant aid in 50 years is landing — and the reporting is clear that awareness, not eligibility, is the bottleneck. That's the gap PellPath closes: plain answers, real programs, in two minutes.

To qualify, a program must prove most students finish and land a job within months that pays enough to justify the cost.

05Who it's for

Built for working adults, not just college kids

Career changers, parents heading back to work, and anyone who wants a credential without four years and a loan. If you're low-to-moderate income and ready to train fast, this grant was written for you.

No degree required — a bachelor's is fine too
Finish in 8–15 weeks, not years
It's a grant, not a loan — nothing to repay
How we pick programs

Your Pell is one-time money. We treat it that way.

Only programs that pay off

We surface training that meets the federal bar — roughly 70% of students finishing and landing a job that justifies the cost. If it can't clear that, it doesn't belong on your shortlist.

No steering toward junk

Reporting warns the new money will draw predatory recruiters. We rank by graduate outcomes and proximity, never by who pays us — because your lifetime Pell is limited and can't be re-spent.

Independent and transparent

We're not a school and not the government. When a school pays a referral fee for a connection you asked for, we say so, up front.

Straight answers

Questions worth asking

No. Workforce Pell is a federal grant, not a loan. There are no monthly payments and nothing to repay — it's the same Pell Grant program that's funded college for decades, now opened up to short job-training programs.

No. Unlike traditional Pell, a bachelor's degree is fine here. The only education level that disqualifies you is a graduate degree (a master's or higher).

It's real federal policy — passed in 2025 and taking effect in summer 2026 — widely covered by outlets like The Hechinger Report and The Washington Post. PellPath is an independent guide, not a school and not the government. We only surface programs that meet the quality bar, and we disclose it if a school pays us a referral fee.

The bar is high and the early list is short. To be approved, a program generally has to show that at least 70% of students finish and land a job that pays enough to justify the cost. A lot of programs won't qualify — and that's the point. It protects you from spending your limited, one-time Pell eligibility on something that doesn't pay off.

Awards average about $2,200, up to a $4,310 annual maximum, prorated by how long your program is and your financial need. Your FAFSA sets the exact number — that's the only way to know for sure.

Institutions can begin as early as July 1, 2026, and the rules formally take effect July 20. States approve programs on a rolling basis, so exactly when depends on your state — we'll flag when yours posts its list.

Still wondering if it's you?

Two minutes settles it — and you'll see real programs at the end.
